What are YOU made of?
As Canada gets ready to welcome the world to Vancouver in 2010, Hudson’s Bay Co. shares a place in another colourful chapter in Canada’s history, as a Premier National Partner and the Official Outfitter of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. It’s a big moment, but we – and Canada – were made for this.
There are as many stories in Canada as there are Canadians. And Hudson’s Bay Co. wants you to share what makes YOU uniquely Canadian. Show us your Canadian pride and tell us what being Canadian is all about by answering the question: “What are YOU made of?”
Submission and voting deadline is November 30, 2009.
How to participate
- Register. You must have a username to submit an entry or vote for an entry.
- Submit your entry in one of three ways:
- Text (500 words max.)
- Photo, in JPG, GIF, or PNG format (20M max.)
- Video, in Windows Media Video (.avi), .3GP (cell phones), .AVI (windows), .MOV (mac), .MP4 (ipod/psp), .MPEG, .FLV (adobe flash), .SWF (shockwave flash), and .MKV (h.264) (100MB max.)
- Vote. Votes will be cast by visitors to the website. The top 30 most voted entries (10 from each category) will advance to the finals. You can only vote once each day, so visit often!
- Promote yourself. Use the share tools to post your entry to your networks like Facebook, Twitter and FriendFeed. Encourage your friends and family to vote for your entry to increase your chance of advancing to the finals!
Prizing
A panel of judges will choose the winning entry from the 30 finalists. The winner will receive:
- Flights for two to Vancouver, BC
- Three nights accommodation
- Transportation and spending money
- Two tickets to watch the Olympic gold medal men’s ice hockey game
- Two tickets for a snowboard event, chosen at the discretion of Hudson’s Bay Co.
- A package of official 2010 Canadian Olympic Team Apparel
